10 Ginahgulla Rd, Bellevue Hill.
Car repair garage owners Steve and Carmen Davidson have sold their Bellevue Hill house for $35m after just two years of ownership, with the boss of an engineering supply firm that exports to China the purchaser.
Initial reports indicated the couple’s Espie Dodds-designed four-level mansion at 10 Ginaghulla Rd had fetched “close to” the $38m guide via Raine and Horne’s James Nixon alongside Laing and Simmons’ Double Bay principal D’Leanne Lewis.
But the Million-Dollar Listing website, that nominates Simon Cohen as the buyer’s agent, advises “circa $36m” and another source said it was “around $35m”.
The Davidsons bought the house just two years ago for $28.5m, and although they’ve made a bit of a profit it’s understood they’ve done a $3m reno in that period. And the stamp duty on their $28.5m purchase would have been about $2m.

The Davidsons have done a $3m reno since their 2021 purchase for $28.5m.
But you can still enjoy Tuscan scenes in dining room.
The vine-covereed pergola is also reminiscent of Tuscany.
All the agents involved are keeping mum about the identity of the purchaser, but the rumour mill had suggested — now confirmed by local sources — that the buyers are Michael Hawksford, managing director for 58 years of engineering supply firm Bremick, and his wife, Christine.
The Bremick website advises the firm has 10 distribution centres, three quality control laboratories and manufacturing facilities in Australia, New Zealand and China.
The Davidsons had bought the Tuscan-style five-bedroom home with pool on a 1430sqm block from the film producer Antoinette “Poppy” Albert a few weeks before Christmas in 2021.
Relax and enjoy the view.
The large level lawn is a huge plus.
The kitchen has been updated.
Showing the current popularity of lavish, large Bellevue Hill homes with harbour views like this one, it sold within three weeks.
Among its attractions were the perfect northerly aspect, the beautifully landscaped level gardens, the mosaic-tiled pool and off-street parking for six cars.
The Mediterranean-inspired residence was exceptionally private and secluded from the street behind a stone wall and semi-circular driveway.
The house, which offered 650sqm of living space, had the feel of a Tuscan countryside manor.
The imposing facade.
The home sold in just three weeks.
The pool looks incredible.
There were a range of formal and informal entertainment areas leading to garden and the balconies had harbour views to Mosman and Manly.
It was only the second time the property had sold since it was built in the early 1980s.
Buyers also appreciated its close proximity to The Scots College, Cranbrook School, Ascham, Kambala and Kincoppal-Rose Bay schools.
The Davidsons seem to have had extraordinary good fortune with their property purchases, selling their previous home in Vaucluse for more than $35m in just a few days.
They’d bought that home for less than half the price — $17m — just three years before.
The Davidsons own Bondi Junction Auto Services garage and several other businesses and residences around Oxford St.
