Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond has listed his Point Piper mansion Wingadal for sale and the price is expected to exceed $200m, smashing the current national home price record of $140m.
Designed by renowned architect Alec Tzannes, the groundbreaking residence at 2 Wingadal Pl sits on 2,676sqm (equal to four normal housing blocks) of prime harbourfront real estate.
Mr Symond says he’s selling because he wants to travel more.
Listed with Ken Jacobs of Forbes Global Properties in association with leading agent Brad Pillinger of Pillinger, the home is built over four levels, features entertaining areas for 500 people, undercover parking for 20 cars (eight inside the garage), four bedrooms plus a two-bedroom apartment, a pool, a wine cellar for 2500 bottles, a theatre with seats for 22 people and two commercial kitchens.

The property was briefly on the market in 2017 and despite an offer of $110m, Symond opted to keep it.
Mr Jacobs said that stunning home was built on the largest landholding of the waterfront off Australia’s premier road, Wolseley Road, with a 98-metre water frontage.
“The estate is Australia’s most iconic residence and ranks amongst the best in the world, combining both privacy and space, exuding elegance and comfort, while featuring gun barrel views of the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge”, he added.
