Engineers Australia CEO Romilly Madew says her organisation is helping skilled migrants obtain internships and placements to equip them with the skills they need to be engineers.
“We have a 50,000 skills shortage in engineers currently; we know that’s going to increase,” she told Sky News Australia.
“At the moment, we’re at capacity, and we don’t have enough engineers.”
