A recent sale of a four-bedroom house in East Gosford, known for its high-end finishes and amenities like extended outdoor living spaces and a swimming pool, has underscored the growing trend of Sydney families seeking more spacious and higher-quality homes on the coast. Sold for $1.55 million, the property at 10 Finley Avenue was a sought-after destination, primarily among out-of-area buyers. Marc Correia, a real estate agent with Stone Real Estate, noted that three out of the four families interested in the home were from Sydney.
The trend of Sydney families moving to coastal areas is driven by the desire to upgrade from apartments valued between $1.1 million and $1.2 million in the northern beaches and Hills District of Sydney. According to Correia, the shift is largely driven by the greater value for money they can obtain on the coast. This trend is not limited to East Gosford, with other coastal properties in areas like Stanwell Park, Port Stephens, and Ballina also witnessing a surge in interest from Sydney buyers. Homes in these areas are selling for prices around $1.6 million and $1.43 million.
The recent sale at East Gosford is just one example of the luxurious homes that are attracting families from Sydney. Another property in Springfield, boasting a modern interior, multiple living spaces, a designer kitchen, and a swimming pool, is up for sale. The property, located on a 601 sqm block in a quiet cul-de-sac, is conveniently located near leading schools, Erina Fair Shopping Centre, and has easy access to public transport and coastal beaches.
The value for money that these coastal homes offer is indeed enticing. For example, another luxury home in East Gosford, featuring a large modern kitchen, newly renovated ensuite and main bathroom, high-end luxury fixtures and fittings, and five generous sized bedrooms, is listed for sale. Adding to its appeal, this property is located in a quiet cul-de-sac near Brisbane Water National Park.
