Established in 1836, St Albans pub Settlers Arms Inn for sale through HTL Property’s Blake Edwards and Ben Kennedy.
HTL Property announce the commencement of the sale process for one of Australia’s most historic and enchanting pubs, the Settlers Arms Inn.
Established in 1836, the Settlers Arms Inn is located on the banks of the Macdonald River in the quaint village of St Albans. St Albans is a punt ride across the mighty Hawkesbury, followed by a short drive into the heart of the scenic Macdonald Valley. Crafted from convict hewn sandstone, the picture perfect inn showcases classic colonial Georgian architecture.
Since 1988, the inn has been under the stewardship of Ian and Gabrielle Burns-Wood, making it not only one of the country’s oldest pubs; but also managed by the oldest publican.
“This is one of the oldest pubs in the country, and I would have to be oldest publican” mused long time owner Ian Burns-Wood.
“We moved here 35 years ago to escape the hustle and bustle of Sydney and have loved every minute of our time; but we are getting older now and circumstances now dictate that we must sell” Burns-Wood continued.
Perched on a 6,627sqm* block there exists an expansive beer garden, alfresco dining area, pool and enough space to hold large events such as weddings or festivals. The pub itself features a single service main bar area, commercial kitchen, multiple wood fireplaces and a self-contained three bedroom loft style apartment. There are also two additional outbuildings, one with pub toilets, a backup kitchen and a one bedroom self contained loft style apartment; the other operates four motel style accommodation rooms.”I have been in the hotel industry for over 11 years, and this is without doubt one the most historic and character- filled pubs I have ever been in” commented HTL Property Director, Blake Edwards.
“This pub combines almost unparalleled history mixed with a serene natural environment in order to create both a unique and majestic pub; all within a day trip from Sydney” Edwards continued.
The sale is being exclusively managed by HTL Property’s Blake Edwards and Ben Kennedy, and will be sold via an on market Expression of Interest campaign closing at 12pm on Wednesday 25 September, unless sold prior.
