Meadowood is a residential development project in the area east of Highway 99 in Ripon.
In December, the Ripon City Council approved an amendment to the Development Agreement, allowing additional time for the owners / developers to commence construction on this project.
“The approved amendment allowed an initial five years to start construction on their project instead of three, with an option to apply for 1-year extensions for the remainder of the Development Agreement term,” said Planning Director Ken Zuidervaart in his staff report at last week’s Council meeting.
With the initial five years approaching, elected leaders approved the 1-year extension clause.
Mid-Valley Engineering of Modesto is spearheading plans for the residential subdivision in the area zoned for medium density.
MVE ran into a series of issues including COVID-19 – Director of Land Planning Joshua Mann said the pandemic halted the momentum that the project had going at the time – infrastructure problems, and increased costs in materials, to name a few.
“The owners / developers have been working diligently on marketing the project to potential home builders,” said Zuidervaart.
MVE is looking at several interested home builders for Meadowood, Mann said.
