Kylie Minogue's 90's love nest sells for $3.4m – Nine

The Aussie pad of pop icon Kylie Minogue and her late boyfriend Michael Hutchence is a nostalgic slice of 90's Sydney and has a new owner who has paid a cool $3,405,000.
Marketed for $3.3 million, the apartment overlooking Hyde Park, the Opera House and the bobbing boats on the harbour is where the iconic celebrity couple lived during their two-year relationship in the late 1980s to the early 90s.
At 2704/187 Liverpool Street, the two-bedroom apartment's owners have a connection to INXS, which Hutchence famously fronted, and are aware of the storied history of the property, agent Brody O'Brien told Nine when the residence first came to market.
The deal was inked on February 28.
The figure is a record for a two-bedroom apartment in the revered building.
Ayre Real Estate's O'Brien – who is looking after the listing with co-agent Adrian Wilson – told Nine the building was the first residential complex in this plum part of the inner city and addresses within are highly sought – even by those already residing there.
The listing – which comes with two car parking spaces – has attracted enquiry from others living in the building, keen on its large balcony overlooking landmarks – which flows off both bedrooms – and northern orientation, with 127 square metres of living.
The apartment is on level 27 of the The Connaught, which has has star-studded residents over the years, and a 24-hour concierge, pool and spa.

The Wikipedia page for The Connaught describes it as one of the "first high-rise strata apartment buildings in Sydney and for its string of famous residents".
These included television reporter Jana Wendt, film critic Margaret Pomeranz and singer Barry Crocker.
O'Brien said the apartment building has retained its heritage.
"It maintains that through its lobbies, its common spaces, and the outlook is unmatched," he said.

Combined with the prime position, high over Hyde Park, the timeless style has cemented the building's icon status.
"Definitely expats and downsizers will be interested, but we have also has some interest from the lower north shore and the inner west," O'Brien said.
He said being one of only two two-bedroom apartments with a balcony of this size, the listing has garnered enquiry from other residents who understand the rarity of the floorplan.
Minogue, 55, recently won her first Grammy in 20 years, for her dance hit Padam Padam.
