A house on Enmore’s “best street” has hit the market, but prospective buyers will need to be prepared to knock it down and start again if they want a piece of the trendy area.
Located at 52 Juliett Street in Sydney’s inner west, the house has been so neglected that real estate listing photos show it covered in graffiti, the roof overgrown with weeds and vegetation, and boarded-up windows.
Listing agent LJ Hooker Newtown described the three-bedroom, one-bathroom property as a “hidden gem” in a key location.

“Having succumbed to the passage of time, this property is now requiring a new owner with some imagination to design and construct a contemporary home,” the real estate listing says.
“It's set on 227sqm in Enmore's best street, a walk to Enmore's cool restaurant strip, Enmore Park, Annette Kellerman Aquatic Centre and Marrickville Metro.”
The property is just a short walk away from Enmore Road, which was named the coolest street in Sydney in 2022 by Time Out, as well as King Street and Newtown train station.
It’s also located on a “generously sized block for the area”, the listing says.
Given the property’s rundown state, it is being marketed as land value only. According to realestate.com.au data, the property was last sold in 2018 for $1.255 million.
While the property will need some serious work, the listing noted it could be “one for builders/developers/architects that see the potential”.
The property is going to auction and has no price guide provided online. However, according to Domain’s latest data, the average price for a three-bedroom home in Enmore is $1.8 million, with 17 sold this year.
It’s not the only dilapidated Sydney house to hit the property market recently. Last weekend, an Annandale house with a collapsed roof, broken front door and boarded-up windows sold for $1.35 million.
Earlier this year, a terrace house in Redfern – which was left completely covered by plants after years of neglect – sold for a whopping $3 million.
