Dunn Property Agents Director Aaron Dunn and his team have merged with The Agency’s Eva Frketic and her team in Hammondville.
But it’s not the first time the duo have worked together.
“Aaron was one of my first mentors in real estate,” Ms Frketic said.
“Garry Dunn (Aaron’s father), gave me my start in real estate and then our paths went different ways, before I recently reached out to Aaron when a property we were going to be selling was one of his managements.
“The comment was made, ‘Would you entertain it (working together again)?’ and it evolved from there.
“We’re definitely looking at it as an opportunity to come together again and to leverage the business and the branding for the area.”
That first stint working together started way back in 2008, when Dunn Property Agents was then known as Dunn & Horne First National.
The pair also worked together when Ms Frketic returned to the agency, then operating as Garry Dunn Property Agents, in 2012.
The business, which Garry Dunn established in 1983, also operated as Raine & Horne Liverpool at one point.
Mr Dunn took over from his father in 2017.
He joked that it was “third time lucky” working with Ms Frketic, but, in seriousness, said it was a fabulous opportunity to grow his business and develop a solid career path.
“I’ve been in the industry since 1994, so it’s been a while, and when I really sat and thought about it, it’s not getting any easier to run a small business and it’s certainly not getting any easier to get staff,” Mr Dunn said.
“I saw it as an opportunity to leverage some of the branding Eva had been a part of, to grow the business overnight, and create an opportunity for me to step away from the business should I ever wish to, knowing that I was putting it in great hands.”
Mr Dunn and Ms Frketic both came to the merger with a team of five, meaning The Agency now comprises 10 experts in Hammondville.
“Aaron and I have a great respect and mutual appreciation of each other and while we will rebrand the Dunn Property Agents office to The Agency South West, the same team will remain with the added benefit of joining The Agency’s national network and having access to its support system that makes The Agency such a successful and thriving real estate business,” Ms Frketic  said.
Ms Frketic said bringing the two teams together created a deep talent pool of property experts in the south west region.
“Aaron’s team has got a really deep understanding and intimate knowledge of their landlords, and then we’ve got my team who, again, are a talented pool,” she said.
“Bringing that together, versus us trying to do that individually, just gives us so much more strength, expertise and maturity in our team to help us service our landlords, tenants and sales clientele really well.”
Ms Frketic said the goals for the next 12 months included growing brand awareness in Sydney’s southwest, to grow the property management portfolio and to build sales transactions and results.
“We’ve had an incredible 2023 and we want to keep building on that,” she said.
