Run by the Defence Science Centre, the Defence and Research Teaming (DaRT) initiative seeks to foster collaboration between industry and academia with the goal of addressing research problems and challenges of significant relevance to the Defence sector.During the event, representatives from the Defence sector will present key challenges that require assistance and solutions.
The aim of DaRT is to explore concept ideation and generate clarity on emerging Defence needs early in the Defence Capability Life Cycle. The DaRT initiative provides value to industry by providing instant feedback on concept ideation and understanding generalised Defence user needs and operating concepts.
Participants are encouraged to provide innovative solutions, preferably through a collaborative approach, to address these Defence-related challenges. After the event, design solutions can be submitted through an Expression of Interest (EOI) process, with funding opportunities ranging from $20,000 to $200,000 available to support the development of these solutions. Additionally, follow-on funding may also be considered through the Collaborative Research Grant rounds.
