According to the Domain end-of-year wrap, it was Kyle and Leslie’s home from The Block that scored the most sets of eyes nationally, while on the west coast, an industrial-style home that appeared to be windowless, attracted plenty of attention.

If you’re looking at that address and wondering, ‘Wasn’t The Block filmed in Charming St, Hampton East’, you’d be correct. The most viewed property on Domain this year, was in fact House 1 from the hit renovation show. Renovated by Kyle and Leslie, 14 Charming St sold at auction for $3.1 million and came with all the bells and whistles, including a double microwave, steam ovens, warming drawers, a coffee machine, multiple dishwashers, a wine fridge, cordless vacuum and a drying cabinet. What more could you want?
21 Plane Tree Drive, Narellan Vale
This bold and bright family home certainly caught buyers’ attention and was the most viewed Sydney property on Domain this year. It’s not hard to see why. The eye-catching home featured stunning murals, eye-popping red splashbacks in the kitchen, stackstone feature walls, leafy green feature walls in the bathroom and a balinese inspired outdoor entertaining area and swimming pool.
598 London Rd, Chandler
Epic luxury is the only way to describe the incredible home that caught buyers’ attention the most in Brisbane this year. Named ‘Stonebrook’, the Sumich Chaplin designed home features six bedrooms and six bathrooms, with design nods to Queenstown villas and African Safari lodges. And whether it’s a home theatre, an epic outdoor firepit, a sauna, a half basketball court, cricket nets, a golf facility, a dressage arena or a Raffles Singapore-inspired bar, this property really does have it all.
1 Lois Simpson Cres, Whitlam
Canberran buyers took a liking to this unique property in 2023, which offered the chance to build their dream home. With a variety of floor plans available, the Domain listing described Acrux Buildings as a trusted local builder and said the home would “be equipped with quality inclusions to ensure comfort year round with double glazed windows, doors and ducted heating and cooling throughout”.
51 Kauri Parade, Seacliff
Built in 1910, and just a stone’s throw from the water’s edge at Seacliff, this unique 19-bedroom home offered buyers the change to knockdown and rebuild their dream home, renovate to create an enviable lifestyle or make use of the property as both a family home and a rooming house, as the vendors had done. The 900sq m block also provided an opportunity for subdivision and redevelopment.
32 Chalmers St, Fremantle
A private oasis, this industrial-style home in highly sought Fremantle gave buyers the impression it had no windows, through the use of carefully overlapping, lattice brickwork. But inside awaited a light-filled home that had been carefully crafted with an urban aesthetic and mixed materials including bricks, concrete, metal and steel. With a cool black, white and grey colour palette, the home offered three bedrooms, two bathrooms and multiple living spaces spread over two levels.

The opportunity to own their own chapel, just 35 minutes from Hobart, caught buyers’ attention in Tasmania this year. Built in 1837, the old colonial Georgian sandstone building offered buyers the chance to create a unique home, weekender or community centre. The buyers had to become the new cemetery managers but the Domain listing described it as “peaceful”.

Described in the listing as a “pocket rocket of space”, this studio apartment was the most viewed property in Darwin on Domain this year. The open plan studio featured a zoned-off bedroom with an open bathroom, including a spa, a streamlined kitchen and living area, plus a small balcony. Right in the heart of the city, the apartment was marketed as an ideal weekday or weekend city pad.
430 Cooroy Mountain Rd, Cooroy Mountain
Set on a hilltop in the Noosa hinterland, breathtakingly beautiful is an apt way of describing ‘Stonelea’.
