Australia is the hottest country in APAC for global hiring of marketers, according to payroll and compliance platform Deel’s second State of Global Hiring report.
Local organisations are hiring overseas remote workers at more than twice the global average.
Pulling first-party data from 100,000+ worker contracts, including more than 1,000 from Australia, the report found an accelerated shift to global hiring.
The ability to hire top talent globally is helping businesses optimise costs in an inflationary environment, while ensuring their business has the staff resources they need to continue growing.
“Businesses around Australia are dealing with one of the tightest employment markets in history. But those that are willing to broaden their horizons are finding high-quality talent from a number of other markets in the region and around the world,” said Shannon Karaka, Head of Expansion ANZ at Deel.
“At Deel we always say that talent is evenly distributed, but opportunities aren’t. Remote work is helping to bridge that divide in a way that makes good economic sense for business leaders looking to hire top talent.”
Australian organisations’ rate of hiring increased by 292% compared to the second half of 2021. Singapore was second at 170% growth, and India was third at 170%. The global average is 145% growth rate of hiring
Australia is also the APAC country with the most organisations hiring overseas remote workers, again ahead of Singapore and India.
The jobs with the fastest growing salaries for Australian workers are sales (104%), product (95%), and software engineering (92%)
The Philippines is now the hottest place to get hired from around the world, driven by a 307% increase in Australian companies hiring workers from the archipelago. The hottest roles companies are hiring for include creative solutions specialist, market research associate, and virtual assistant.
Australian companies have also driven India to become the third fastest growing source of workers, with a 185% growth in companies from down under hiring Indian workers. The fastest-growing job roles in India are enrollment advisor, sales development, and digital marketing
