With Cheshire East Council’s seal of approval, the Cumbrian housebuilder can progress its plans for Fulshaw Manor, a residential development off Alderley Road.
Planning permission for the scheme was approved at the council’s Northern Planning Committee meeting on Wednesday, in line with officer recommendation.
Story Homes is aiming to start constructing Fulshaw Manor in early 2023, with sales launching that summer.
When complete, the APD-designed Fulshaw Manor will have 38 market houses and 16 affordable. The market houses range from having two to five bedrooms, while the affordable homes will have between one and three bedrooms.
Of the 38 market homes, 32 will be detached and six will be semi-detached.
Adam Galleymore, land and planning director for Story Homes in the North West, said the housebuilder was “delighted” by the planning approval.
“This is a key site for us as we continue with our expansion plans across the North West and will be our first in Cheshire,” Galleymore said.
“The development, known as Fulshaw Manor, will feature a bespoke range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes, designed specifically for the development, that have a premium specification and offer customers spacious, open-plan living.”
Asteer Planning represented Story Homes during the planning committee meeting.
Asteer managing director Jon Suckley praised the project.
“The scheme is well designed and will provide a bespoke housing development comprising a mix of housing including detached, semi-detached, mews /apartments and bungalows ranging from 1-5 bedroom properties,” Suckley said.
“The development will deliver a policy compliant level of affordable housing, extensive public open space and ecological enhancement including planting 105 new trees on a sustainable gateway site into Wilmslow.”
The Fulshaw Major project team also includes Tyler Grange, Urban Green, RSK Land and Development, Trevor Bridge Associates, and RS Acoustic Engineering.
Fulshaw Manor’s application reference number with Cheshire East council is 21/4669M.
