The Security Officer functions within the framework of the UN Security Management System, under the supervision of the Senior Field Security Advisor. The position is responsible for supporting effective and efficient security services to enable the safe conduct of local programmes and operations in the relevant geographical business units. The Security Officer supports the promotion of a compliance and client-oriented approach consistent with UNOPS rules and regulations and UN Security Management System regulations. They work closely with Programme Management and personnel to plan for and resolve security related issues.

Contract type, level and duration
Contract type: Local individual Contract Agreement (LICA)
This contract is a regular monthly contract, which requires ongoing services during the term of the contract and payments will be made at the end of each month.
Contract level: ICS-8 / LICA-8
Contract duration: Open-ended, subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds and satisfactory performance.
