Australia's Energy Market Operator, "AEMO" warned of possible electricity shortfalls, amid the transition to renewables. The fear is that there will be a big energy gap left between fossil fuel-provided power and electricity fully provided by renewables sources. The warning comes as at least five coal fired power stations are scheduled to close by the end of the decade.
There are a host of renewable projects that have been announced, planned, started, but how many will be completed in time to replace coal and gas generated power? Philip Clark was joined by three renewable energy experts to discuss how realistic these schemes are. Can they overcome the feared gap in sustainable power demand and which billionaires might be involved.
