PREMIAIR Racing has confirmed it has split with team principal Matt Cook.
The news comes on the morning of the NTI Townsville 500 getting underway.
Cook had led the Chevrolet team last month in Darwin before multiple media reports emerged indicating he was taking a leave of absence.
Further details around the situation are not yet clear, other than the fact team owner Peter Xiberras will take over as acting team principal.

Cook had been appointed in May 2022, having previously worked with the likes of Supercars squads Dick Johnson Racing and Triple Eight Race Engineering plus former Formula 1 team Virgin/Marussia.
Another change to the PremiAir ranks for Townsville is the addition of data engineer Romy Mayer, having moved across from Triple Eight last month.
She joins an engineering department led by Geoff Slater, who is a regular on the cans for James Golding, while Tim Slade has Blake Smith back on deck this weekend.
Slade is 13th in the championship, one place ahead of Golding.
