STEPHEN Robertson has seen it all.
He has worked in the South African touring car scene with BMW Motorsport; been a mechanic/engineer in Germany’s DTM for Abt Sportsline; spent a near-decade as team manager through Triple Eight’s Supercars rise; and been sporting/technical manager for both Supercars and Porsche Cars Australia.
After filling a project manager role guiding Grove Racing into the Gen3 era, he has lobbed at PremiAir Racing as its new team manager.
PremiAir has been building its off-track roster with an engineering team now featuring Geoff Slater, Romy Mayer and Simon Hodge, but had a management vacuum following the departures of Dan Ensor (team manager) last year and Matt Cook (team principal) mid-season.
Enter Robertson.
Having been on deck for a pre-enduro test day last week at Queensland Raceway, it has not taken long for Robertson to like what he sees.
“I am feeling excited to get on-track and get to work in my new role as team manager for this fantastic team,” he said, ahead of this weekend’s Sandown 500.

“The dedication and commitment I have witnessed already in my short time with working with them all has been very impressive, and I know that together, we have the capacity to achieve great things.”
With pairings of Tim Slade/Jonathon Webb and James Golding/Dylan O’Keeffe, there is a quiet confidence around what the two Nulon Camaros can achieve.
“We had an exceptionally busy and comprehensive program to run through at our test day at Queensland Raceway and the results were very promising,” said Robertson.
“We tried a lot of things and learnt a lot, and we are feeling quietly confident now with the packages we have put together ahead of this weekend’s Sandown 500.
“Enduros are unique beasts which can throw anything at you, but across the entire team we feel like we have done the work and crossed all the t’s and dotted all the i’s, to be in the best possible place we can be heading into the enduro season.”
