The Position
The successful applicant will provide expertise in the operation of various microanalytical techniques available across a range of scanning electron microscopes, including those related to the JEOL JXA8530F electron probe microanalyser (EPMA). The Microanalytical Engineer will also provide (i) expert advice and training on relevant applications on the EPMA and other high-end FESEMs, including SEM imaging, quantitative EDS and EBSD to researchers and students from ANU as well as external university clients and industry users; (ii) training workshops for clients from various disciplines and (iii) laboratory and equipment management including performance management and basic maintenance of instrumentation.
The Person
We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with extensive experience in a wide range of microanalytical techniques including WDS and EDS analysis. The successful candidate is a person with excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to quickly develop productive, professional relationships with colleagues and clients. Highly developed organisational skills and effective self-management are key.
