THE ROLE
Australian Astronomical Optics – Macquarie (AAO-Macquarie) is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Mechanical Machinist / highly skilled CNC machine operator to provide specialist technical support for the delivery of instrumentation projects and the operational running of the AAO workshop and laboratories.
Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager and under the guidance of the Mechanical Workshop Supervisor, you will:
About You
You will be a qualified fitter and turner or similar with advanced skills in CNC programming and machining (Hypermil or Mastercam), be mechanically minded and have excellent communication skills and ability to build sound working relationships. You will possess a positive and proactive mindset alongside the ability to self-manage. Your technical expertise, analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders will enable you to succeed.

Salary Package: Up to $120k including ($93,017 to $102,676 p.a. commensurate with experience and 17% employer’s superannuation).
