Proceeds from property sales in Sydney are being donated to charity as an act of good will of their owners.
Charitable auctions are becoming increasingly popular for sellers offloading their deceased estates, with a number of properties set at low prices to attract higher results.
Two seperate Sydney properties will give away their auction proceeds to charity as their owners passed away and wished for the money to go towards various causes.
This Sylvania property has a $1.25m reserve.
Situated 22 kilometres south of Sydney, the property at 34 The Esplanade in Sylvania will go under the hammer on the 25th February at 11:15am.
Proceeds from the sale of the four bedroom and two bathroom home will be split three ways; with one third going to The Starlight Foundation, a third going to Guide Dogs NSW, and a third going towards the RSCPA.
The proceeds from the sale of the Sylvania home will go towards charities.
Listed via Luxe Agency’s Maryanne Cassar and auctioned via Avenue Auctions’ Andrew Cooley, the home has a $1.25m reserve and has been guided between $1.2m to $1.3m.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Mr Cooley said he was expecting a good crowd at this weekend’s auction.
Charities involved in the Sylvania sale include Guide Dogs NSW, RSPCA, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
“We’re predicting about three or four registered bidders, it’s a great home in a great location.
“Whenever charity auctions come around, everyone is rooting for a solid result. It’s all for a good cause, so I’d love to see people getting among the action.”
The vendor of the property is the sister of the original owner who lived with her husband in the home for the last 50 years.

Is this Sydney’s cheapest mansion?
The deceased estate had been occupied by the previous owner for the last 50 years.
Ms Cassar said the waterfront home offered potential for buyers to renovate, redesign, or knockdown and rebuild subject to council approval.
“The deceased owner was Margaret Petersen who was a counsellor that helped people with tragedies such as the Granville train disaster and would talk over the phone so much that she was deaf from answering calls!”
“I’ve never had the pleasure of selling a home for charity, so I think it’s a fantastic opportunity to give generously and buy your dream property at the same time.
“It will bring fantastic rewards for those wishing to capitalise on such a prime location within strolling distance to foreshore walks and parklands around the bay. The location is quiet and the views are immaculate for the area.”
The property can be renovated, redesigned, or knocked down and rebuilt STCA.
Elsewhere in Sydney’s Inner West, the proceeds of a house sale will also be divided between three charities.
The two bedroom and one bathroom home at 45 Young St in Annandale is a deceased estate belonging to a retired TAFE teacher and university lecturer.

The vendor has a list of belongings that are being donated to the State Library and the Powerhouse Museum.
Listed via The Agency’s Chris Williams with an $1.2m guide, the proceeds of the charity sale will go towards The Smith Family, The National Trust, and The Animal Welfare League.
The proceeds of the Annandale property will go to charities such as The Smith Family, The National Trust, and the Powerhouse Museum.
“This home is being specifically geared towards first home buyers and investors looking to get into the market.
“While I have done charity sales in the past, this is the first one I’ve seen that is going to multiple charities,” Mr Williams said.
The property has been described in its online listing as an ‘unpolished gem in an enviable location’, and is spread over two levels with charming period features and includes high ceilings, a private garden, and rear lane access.
It is also being geared towards first home buyers and investors with potential to create off-street parking for one car at the rear of the block.
