A trophy home on the Gold Coast with a rare design feature has sold for a significant sum at auction, and is one of the most expensive properties ever sold under the hammer in Australia.
Listed by Kollosche, the six-bedroom, six-bathroom home at 59 The Corso in the Isle of Capri in Queensland boasts not one but two pools and sold for $24 million on July 14.
Agent Sam Guo held the listing alongside Julia Kuo and Claire Dai.
The Queensland record stands at $42 million – in cash – paid this year for an estate on Tallebudgera Connection Road, Tallebudgera. The deal for that glamorous property was the second-highest price at an Aussie auction but only by a narrow margin. Should it not settle, the Isle of Capri home will claim the Queensland title.
The national auction record is $43 million set by the sale of a Toorak mansion, in Lansell Road, in October 2021.
Before the Toorak transaction, the Aussie auction record was $24.6 million for a water-view house in Sydney's Vaucluse. That address pitched $10 million over reserve, leaping the previous record of $23 million for Sydney mansion Le Manoir, in Bellevue Hill, bought in 2009 by Lachlan and Sarah Murdoch.

As stated on the listing, the Isle of Capri home offers "resort-style living" with a wet-edge pool and an adjoining plunge pool which is next to a feature waterfall and an in-ground spa.
Alongside the two hotel-worthy pools, the buyer will be able to make use of a fully-equipped gym, sauna, cinema room and billiards room.
There's also ample opportunity for entertaining with multiple patios, zen gardens, a wet bar and wine cellar that holds up to 7,000 bottles.
The tri-level home itself is a sight to behold with its unique layout and building materials.

Offering over 42 metres of water frontage, the property takes on a Balinese influence with sandstone, New Guinea rosewood, teak and Oregon timber.
Two wings wrap around a central atrium with columns, easily giving the home the title of an entertainer's paradise.
Domain data reveals a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home on the same street sold for $1.905 million in December. In April last year, a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home also sold for $2 million.
