The Terracon Foundation is giving Arizona State University $10,000 to support scholarships for students specializing in geotechnical or pavement engineering.
Terracon is an employee-owned engineering consulting firm with more than 6,000 employees. It provides environmental, facilities, geotechnical and materials services from more than 175 locations in 50 states, according to a company release.
“Our involvement with ASU has been mutually beneficial, and we would like to leverage an improving relationship with the university and its students to provide the professional workforce needed for our future growth,” Joseph Phillips, senior principal in Terracon’s Phoenix office, said.
“We believe ASU can be a recruiting hub for engineering staff not only for our Arizona locations but for other Terracon offices, especially those without universities in their town.”
