A RANGE of Holden Commodore V8 Supercars have sold at the weekend’s ‘UnReil Collection’ auction in Sydney.
The cars were part of a significant collection of race and road vehicles offered as part of the Lloyds Auctions-run sale.
The ex-David ‘Truckie’ Parsons/Robert Smith Commodore VS V8 Supercar, chassis PE 028 built by Perkins Engineering and currently in Neil Schembri/GearBox livery, sold for $137,000 to a phone bidder
The other Perkins-built Commodore offered for sale in the auction, PE 026, raced by Parsons and Rodney Crick at Bathurst in 1995, sold to an online bidder for $146,000.
Another car sold was the ex-Scott Pye Walkinshaw Andretti United Commodore ZB Supercar that Pye used to win at Albert Park in 2018.
It sold for $355,000 to an undisclosed bidder, the same figure that the ex-Ian Geoghegan Craven Mild Monaro Sports Sedan sold for.
The ex-Warren Cullen A9X Hatchback sold for $315,000 to an online bidder, the Ron Hodgson Motors Torana XU-1 raced by Bob Morris sold for $280,000 and the ex-Garry Rogers Commodore VL Group A SV sold for $270,000.
A rare Torana A9X built with a GMP&A body shell and just 475 kilometres on the odometer was also offered with bidding reaching $500,001 before negotiations were to continue with a phone bidder.
Bidding for the ex-Bob Jane Monaro GTS 350 and the three-time Australian Touring Car Championship-winning Geoghegan Mustang GTA each reached $400,000 but the auctioneer’s hammer didn’t come down on either car on the day.
The ex-Kevin Waldock Komatsu Falcon EF touring car attracted a bid of $156,000 that also wasn’t enough to bring down the hammer on the day, as too was the $109,000 bid on the ex-Peter Brock Targa Tasmania Torana XU-1 tribute.
