Owners transitioning from traditional carbon-based energy sources to “sustainable options,” including passive house and timber construction, have created strong “demand for services and projects” the last 30 months, he says, “putting pressure on teams and the need to increase staff.”
While developer-sponsored life sciences work slowed in the past 12 months and might not see “renewed growth until perhaps 2025,” Rutledge says that “health care technology and a focus on productivity enhancement will continue to advance the need for capital investments.”
While the industry will undergo “a period of transition over the next year, with each market going through an adjustment cycle,” Rutledge says, “residential will remain strong.”
