Celebrity landscape architect Brendan Moar is a dab hand at gardening, so when his Newtown home hits the market he can expect more than just a few nosy neighbours and fevered buyers hoping to take a look.
Turns out, the former host of Network Ten’s The Renovators also does a good home interior, judging by the before and after images of the Victorian terrace he bought in 2018 for $1.88 million.

The three-bedroom terrace is primed for a spring auction, naturally, on September 30 for which BresicWhitney’s Chris Nunn has set a $2.4 million guide.

It comes to market amid a heady time in the Newtown property market.
The suburb’s record house price is freshly set at $6.85 million thanks to Woollahra-based barrister Jason Downing and Amanda Lintott, of Autonomy Co, and The Star casino’s former chief Matt Bekier and his wife Melinda have launched their landmark converted warehouse for $12 million.
The three-bedroom terrace of Brendan Moar last traded in 2018 for $1.88 million.
In Annandale, a sales campaign is underway on the converted warehouse of Jackson Ainsworth, the grandson to billionaire pokie king Len Ainsworth.
The former car workshop was previously owned by builder Joe Sidoti, who commissioned the redesign by Sam Crawford Architects that won a Master Builders Association award for adaptive reuse in 2016.

The charming house with Cameron Kimber Interiors was sold by Mary McManus, co-founder with her twin sister Gina Courtenay of Lavender Hill Interiors. It last traded two years ago for $5.25 million.
King is coming from Darling Point where in 2016 she purchased the apartment of expat LA producer Em Tardy-Green for $4.9 million. She sold it earlier this year for $9.2 million.
Tech investor and Southern Highlands landholder Peter Crown and his wife Vanessa have been hot favourites to be the buyers of a $22.5 million Bronte house that exchanged in July.

It was a bullish result even if Ray White Double Bay’s Ashley Bierman and Elliott Placks are keeping quiet on the details. The home last traded 15 months earlier for $17.7 million when sold at auction by F45 co-founder Rob Deutsch.
What’s more, there were no material improvements in the meantime by the vendor George Ajaka, chief executive of RW Capital.
Talk of the Crowns’ purchase comes as the couple list their nearby Clovelly digs for a September 28 auction, and with the same Ray White team who sold them the Bronte digs.
Crown became the talk of the Southern Highlands in 2021 when he purchased a $100 million land aggregation from Hume Coal after its parent company, Korean steel giant POSCO, was knocked back on plans to build an underground coal mine.
Crown then pulled off a savvy flip of half the Hume Coal portfolio, selling the historic Mereworth property for $50 million to prominent father-son property investor Anthony and Roy Medich.
Here’s one for the fantasy aficionados among us: The New York Times best-selling author John Flanagan and his wife Leonie have listed their Mosman home for a September 30 auction.
Flanagan, whose work includes the Ranger’s Apprentice series, has listed the Andrew Tzannes-designed house with Pello’s Stefon Bertram and David Smeallie with a $6.5 million to $6.7 million guide.

The four-bedroom house overlooking Quakers Hat Bay last traded in 2016 for $4.1 million when the Flanagans – parents to comedian Kitty Flanagan – were trading over from their long-held Manly home.
As Mosman’s literary set would know, the listing comes a few months after fellow homegrown author Liane Moriarty and her husband Adam Gatenby purchased a Mosman house overlooking the harbour for $19.5 million.
Tamar Beck, of the Weinstock furniture retail family, is a big fan of Darling Point’s Retford Hall.
Beck has owned apartments in the 1960s-built tower for 30 years, and purchased the whole-floor penthouse in 2012 for $5.7 million from the estate of arts philanthropist Millie Gowing, of the Gowing retail family.
Beck has added another, paying $10,425,000 for the whole 14th floor of Jan O’Neil after it was offered for sale by Ray White’s Noel Nicholson. The apartment last traded in 2008 for $7.5 million when sold by property investor Elsa Zavattaro.
