Blanchard Racing Team set for 2024 engineering coup – V8 Sleuth

THE Supercars engineer silly season continues to play out, with the Blanchard Racing Team among the winners.
Following news that Chaz Mostert’s long-time right-hand man Adam De Borre will step away from Supercars at the end of the year, V8 Sleuth can reveal two more key moves which are on the cards.
Both relate to the impending downsizing of Tickford Racing from four cars to two, with race engineers Raymond Lau and Sam Scaffidi set to head elsewhere in 2024.
Scaffidi, who currently works with James Courtney, is understood to be in line to join Walkinshaw Andretti United. It’s unclear whether that would be to directly replace De Borre on Mostert’s #25 Mustang or not.
Lau, race engineer for Thomas Randle, meanwhile is set to join BRT in a big coup for the expanding Ford squad.

Neither the Scaffidi/WAU nor Lau/BRT deals have been officially confirmed as yet.
For BRT though, that is a promising development given its staffing struggles since becoming a standalone operation at the start of 2021, and the fact it is running two cars full-time next season.
BRT is yet to announce its 2024 driver line-up, although Courtney and Aaron Love are the rumoured front-runners.
As of now, BRT has Sheldon Auhl guiding Todd Hazelwood’s CoolDrive car, and Chris Fitzgerald on Love’s wildcard entry.
As for Tickford, the expected departures of Lau and Scaffidi would leave it with a more compact engineering roster for 2024, presumably with the Cam Waters/Sam Potter relationship continuing and Chris Stuckey shifting from the #56 Mustang to work with Randle.
The brainpower at Campbellfield also includes the likes of chief engineer Brad Wischusen, while Dilan Talabani heads up the organisation’s Tickford Engineering arm.
