The Australian rental market is no doubt tight with a lack of options. And one Reddit user this week was left outraged by the layout of a bathroom for a studio rental in Sydney's Newtown.
Currently leased at $320 per week, the Wilson Street unit contains a "matchbox-shape bathroom" with the shower head directly above the toilet.
The Reddit user described the layout as a "hygiene disaster waiting to happen".

"Serious real estate photos for a Newtown studio (at) $320 per week", they wrote.
"I'm not a plumber but I feel like this idea for a bathroom is a hygiene disaster waiting to happen.
"I have never seen a bathroom which is designed in a matchbox shape with the sink, then shower then toilet in that order, and without shower curtains in between."
Nine has seen the listing. The advertising does not show a bathroom shot. However, the blue and yellow kitchen image shared on Reddit is on the listing.
Domain's December Quarter Rent Report for 2022 reveals the median weekly asking rent for a unit in Newtown is $480.

Located in Sydney's inner west, the suburb is about 4km south-west of the CBD.
It's a bustling area known for its bookstores, thrift shops, bars and restaurants.
Domain's latest data shows that the nation has seen the sharpest annual rental increase at 14.6 per cent for houses and 17.6 per cent for units across the combined capital cities.
Tenants will discover that choice remains scarce due to historic low vacancies in December.
