The companies featured on the Dallas Business Journal’s 2023 North Texas’ Black-Owned Businesses List brought in a combined total revenue of $216.14 million in 2022.

Twenty-one companies responded to the survey distributed by the Dallas Business Journal starting on Dec. 29.
To qualify for this List, companies must be at least 51 percent owned by a black individual and headquartered within one of these North Texas counties: Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Grayson, Hill, Johnson, Kaufman, McLennan, Navarro, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant and Wise.
Here’s a look at the top 10 Black-owned companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, ranked based on the companywide total revenue.
No. 1: Parrish Restaurants Ltd.
Locally founded in 1989, the company has one local office and two offices companywide. It operates over 24 restaurants in North Texas, with 1,425 local employees in the area and a companywide revenue of $107.15 million.
No. 2: The Crowther Group
Locally founded in 2017, the private commercial general contractor’s company specializes in new and remodel multi-site projects for brands. The company has one local presence and 21 local employees, with a companywide revenue of $41.37 million.  
No. 3: Paul Quinn College
Locally founded in 1872, the private company specializes in higher education and operates from has one local office. The company has 75 employees, with a companywide revenue of $20 million.
No. 4: Alpha Business Images
Locally founded in 2004, the private company specializes in marketing and advertising. They have one local office and two offices companywide, with a companywide revenue of $10.5 million.
No. 5: Bracane Company
Locally founded in 2002, the private company specializes in research, staffing and recruiting. It has one local office presence and a companywide revenue of $10.04 million.
No. 6: Mbroh Engineering, Inc.
Locally founded in 2006, the private company specializes in engineering and construction management across Texas and Oklahoma. It has one local office presence and three offices companywide. There are currently 20 local employees and 35 employees companywide on the payroll as of Dec. 31. It has a companywide revenue of $7.2 million.
No. 7: UI Global Brands
Locally founded in 2010, the private company specializes in manufacturing, distributing and a marketer of owned clean beauty brands. It has one local presence, with a total of seven employees and a companywide revenue of $5.58 million.
No. 8: K Strategies Group
Locally founded in 2002, the private company specializes in marketing and public relations. It has one local office presence. The company currently has 20 employees on the payroll as of Dec. 31 and has a companywide revenue of $2.6 million.
No. 9: The Morine Group REALTORS
Locally founded in 2016, the private company specializes in imperial and bold residential real estate services. The company has one local presence, with a companywide revenue of $2.05 million.
No. 10: SuiteMate Staffing Solutions Inc.
Founded in 2018, the private company specializes in staffing and recruiting. It has one local office presence, with a companywide revenue of $2 million.
