A very pretty profit.
The Clontarf house where mother and daughter authors Barbara and Anna Fienberg wrote the successful children’s series Tashi has sold in just five weeks for more than $4.5m.
The late Barbara Fienberg, a teacher librarian who had the idea of an elfin character with magical shoes having adventures bought the landmark house with her husband Len in Peronne Ave for $115,000 in 1979. That scored the sellers an incredible 3813 per cent profit.

The three-bedroom, three-bathroom house sits lightly on its 910 sqm block, is an easy walk down to Sandy Bay and has water views.
Interestingly the internationally acclaimed architect Glenn Murcutt’s family lived next door and young Glenn admired the Fienberg house and sought to work under Peter Swan without success.
